Can Pactolane import my old contracts directly into the editor?
Yes. We accept Word, PDF, and plain text. Import preserves formatting and enables immediate editing. If you have contracts at scale, our team can set up an automated integration.
How do third-party portals work? Do my clients need to create an account?
No. Each counterparty receives a secure link and verifies their identity by OTP (one-time code) before accessing the contract. No account to create, no friction. You control who can view, comment or edit via the portals. Access is tracked and revocable at any time.
If two people edit the same paragraph at the same time, what happens?
The editor uses operational synchronization. Both changes coexist, and you can resolve them manually. Pactolane alerts you if two changes overlap the same passage, and offers you the alternative versions.
Can I export the contract with all tracked changes?
Yes. Export to Word with Track Changes (native Microsoft format), or PDF with annotations. You also keep every version on Pactolane for later comparison.
What access levels can I assign?
Several permission levels are available: read-only, comments, editing or approval. Each collaborator or counterparty is assigned a specific access level on the contract. Rights are editable and revocable at any time.
