Track Changes
Changes in progressUpdated 3 min ago
Art. 5.2 · Confidentiality✓ Accepted

Term of 3 years 5 years after contract expiry

Art. 8.1 · Liability⏳ Proposal

Cap raised to 12 months of billing

Art. 12 · Non-compete✗ Declined

Addition of a 24-month non-compete clause

The problem

Email back-and-forth
is killing your negotiations.

01

Multiple versions in circulation

V1 as an attachment. Client comments. V2. Legal's remarks. V3. Versions pile up, confusion grows.

02

Scattered context

Who said what? On which version? Why? Emails vanish, decisions get lost. Impossible to trace the history.

03

Long negotiation cycles

Waiting for replies. Oversights. Follow-ups. Every round trip adds days. Your deals drag on while the competition moves ahead.

The solution

Three key capabilities
to collaborate differently.

Built-in Track Changes

Every change is tracked, attributed and timestamped. Accept or reject clause by clause.

FAQ

Common questions.

Q.01Can Pactolane import my existing contracts directly into the editor?

Yes. We accept Word, PDF and plain text. Import preserves formatting and allows immediate editing. If you have a large volume of contracts, our team can set up an automated integration.

Q.02How do third-party portals work? Do my clients need to create an account?

No. Each counterparty receives a secure link and verifies their identity by OTP (one-time passcode) before accessing the contract. No account to create, no friction. You control who can view, comment or edit via the portals. Access is tracked and can be revoked at any time.

Q.03What happens if two people edit the same paragraph at the same time?

The editor uses operational synchronization. Both changes coexist, and you can resolve them manually. Pactolane alerts you if two changes overlap the same passage, and suggests the alternative versions.

Q.04Can I export the contract with all tracked changes?

Yes. Export to Word with Track Changes (native Microsoft format), or to PDF with annotations. You also keep every version in Pactolane for later comparison.

Q.05What access levels can I assign?

Several permission levels are available: read-only, comment, edit or approve. Each collaborator or counterparty is assigned a specific access level on the contract. Permissions can be changed or revoked at any time.
