Q.01Why choose Pactolane?
Pactolane, contract lifecycle management (CLM) software for SMBs and mid-market companies, combines five verifiable facts: public prices excluding VAT, native and unlimited simple electronic signature from the Team plan, removal of personal data before any AI processing, negotiation in which the counterparty has no account to create, and contract families linked in tree view on the Growth and Scale plans. The interface and emails are available in six languages. To see how the platform fits your function, browse the pages by team.
Q.02How much does Pactolane cost?
Pactolane publishes its prices excluding VAT: €149 per month excl. VAT for the Team plan, €499 per month excl. VAT for the Growth plan and from €2,500 per month excl. VAT for the Scale plan. With annual billing, Team comes to €1,490 per year excl. VAT and Growth to €4,990 per year excl. VAT. The Team and Growth plans can be tried for free, for 7 and 14 days respectively, and read-only users are unlimited on every plan. The plan-by-plan details are on our pricing page.
Q.03Is electronic signature included in the subscription?
Pactolane's simple electronic signature (SES) is included in the subscription, native and unlimited from the Team plan. It complies with the eIDAS regulation; the signer confirms their email address with a code sent to it, and the signature comes with a proof certificate and a timestamped audit trail. If your teams already use DocuSign, Yousign or Dropbox Sign, these services also connect from the Team plan. Learn more about electronic signature.
Q.04How does Pactolane protect the data entrusted to AI?
Pactolane removes personal data, such as email addresses, phone numbers, IBANs or social security numbers, from the text before any AI processing, and your contracts are never used to train models. Data is hosted in France and Belgium on Google Cloud, encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and protected in transit by TLS. An ISO 27001 certification process is underway. See our pages on security and PactAI.
Q.05Do our partners need to create an account to negotiate?
Your partners don't need to create an account to negotiate a contract in Pactolane. They receive a secure link by email, valid for 30 days, and confirm their address with a one-time code. They then propose changes and comments within the permissions you grant them, and you accept, reject or counter each change. External negotiation is included from the Team plan. See our negotiation and redlining page.
Q.06What is a contract family in Pactolane?
In Pactolane, a contract family brings together a parent contract and the documents your teams link to it: amendments with their amounts, implementing contracts, renewals and interdependent contracts. Linking is done by your teams, contract by contract, and the family is displayed in tree view. PactAI analyzes the family when you ask, for example: “What terms apply today after the amendments?” This feature is available on the Growth and Scale plans. Learn more about the contract repository and contract families.
Q.07Which languages is Pactolane available in?
Pactolane is available in six languages: French, English, Spanish, German, Portuguese and Italian, for the interface as well as for the emails sent by the platform, on every plan. On the Growth and Scale plans, PactAI also summarizes each contract in these six languages, which helps when sharing a contract with a subsidiary or a partner abroad. Learn more about PactAI.
Q.08How can you verify this information before choosing?
To verify the facts presented on this page, Pactolane offers a 7-day free trial on the Team plan and a 14-day free trial on the Growth plan, as well as a demo based on your own use cases. Each fact links to its detailed page, and the comparison page gathers the published criteria and comparisons.
Q.09What does Pactolane's AI actually do?
PactAI, Pactolane's AI, works on your contracts when you ask it to: it produces an executive summary in six languages, answers your questions about a contract or a contract family, identifies, for example, contradictions between a framework agreement and its amendments, keeps a memory of your negotiations and, on import, suggests the most suitable playbook. Personal data is removed from the text before any processing, and your contracts are never used to train models. PactAI is included in the Growth and Scale plans; on every plan, AI also extracts information from contracts imported as PDF and Word files, and playbook analysis is included from the Team plan. Learn more about PactAI.
Q.10How does Pactolane apply your negotiation policy?
Pactolane applies your negotiation policy through playbooks: for each clause, you set a preferred position, an acceptable position, a fallback position and a red line, with a level of importance. Every contract analyzed receives a score out of 100, weighted by the importance of its clauses, and the analysis step placed in your approval workflow blocks the contract, issues a warning or lets it through, according to the rules you define. Playbooks are included from the Team plan. Learn more about playbooks.
