Owner: Marc R. · expected October 15
The monthly report, the annual audit, the certificate to renew: it's all written in the contract, none of it is in a calendar.
Legal negotiated, operations deliver, procurement pays. Every obligation falls between two teams.
A missing certificate or a missed service level comes to light during a dispute or an audit, when it's too late to act calmly.
Pactolane's obligation tracking lets you record every commitment in a contract (deliverable, service level, report, certificate, audit) with its type, date, status and the person responsible. An overview counts pending, in-progress, completed and overdue obligations, filterable by contract and by counterparty. Available on the Growth and Scale plans.
Contract, type, due date, description, status and person responsible: everything it takes for the commitment to have an owner.
How many obligations are pending, in progress, completed or overdue, for the whole portfolio or for a given contract and counterparty.
On a long contract, run the obligation analysis: PactAI lists each party's commitments; you then record the ones to track in the manager. Growth and Scale plans.
A table of all obligations: contract, counterparty, type, status, date. Edit, mark as completed or delete in one step.
Each obligation carries the name of the person who must fulfill it, in legal, procurement or operations.
Pending, in progress, completed. An obligation whose date has passed gets the “overdue” badge.
Counters by status, deadlines due within 30 days and overdue dates, with filters by contract and by counterparty.
On request, PactAI lists each party's commitments in a contract. You stay in control of what is tracked.
For a critical obligation, also record a milestone-type deadline on the same contract, with reminders at D-30, D-7 or D-1, in the app and by email.
A contractual obligation is a commitment that a party has made in the contract and must perform: delivering, meeting a service level, submitting a report, providing a certificate, undergoing an audit, paying by a given date. Since the 2016 reform, Article 1103 of the French Civil Code provides that lawfully formed contracts have the force of law for those who made them, and non-performance gives the creditor access to the remedies under Article 1217. Depending on its wording, the obligation is one of means or one of result, which changes what must be proven.
In Pactolane, you create an obligation from the obligation manager by choosing the contract, the type, the due date, a description, the status and the person responsible. The table gathers all the obligations in the portfolio; you mark them as completed as you go, and those whose date has passed automatically get the “overdue” badge. The overview counts obligations by status and can be filtered by contract or by counterparty.
PactAI identifies the obligations in a contract when you run the obligation analysis on it: it lists the commitments the contract contains and indicates which party is responsible for each. You review this list, choose the obligations to track and record them with their owner and date. PactAI speeds up the inventory; the decision to track, and the check against the text, remain yours. PactAI is available on the Growth and Scale plans. Learn more about PactAI.
In Pactolane, an obligation is a commitment to be performed, carried by a person responsible and tracked with a status; a deadline is a contract date (renewal, end, notice, milestone) that triggers reminders. The two complement each other: for an obligation whose date is critical, also record a deadline with reminders at D-30, D-7 or D-1. Learn more about deadline and renewal tracking.
In Pactolane, you track a supplier's obligations by filtering the overview on that counterparty: you see at once its pending, in-progress, completed and overdue obligations, across all its contracts. That's the basis of a supplier review. For a service provider or subcontractor, from €5,000 excl. VAT, the URSSAF vigilance certificate is one of the documents to request when the contract is concluded and then every six months until performance ends (Articles L. 8222-1, R. 8222-1 and D. 8222-5 of the French Labor Code): record each expected renewal as an obligation, with its date and owner. To organize this tracking across your whole supplier base, see the page on Pactolane for procurement teams.
Pactolane's obligation tracking is included in the Growth (€499 per month excl. VAT, 14-day free trial) and Scale (from €2,500 per month excl. VAT) plans. These plans also include deadline tracking with alerts, PactAI and contract families. Full details are on our pricing page.
